aiming for a quiet life...

here is where i collect my thoughts and count my blessings.

About Me

I have been married to my husband, Tom, since 1981... yes, we were high school sweethearts. We have two adult sons who were with us in Russia but now they are off discovering their own places in the world. We have moved from Kansas to California, California to Russia and now Russia to Belize.

I began this blog while we were exiled stranded waiting in Istanbul, Turkey for our Russian visas to be renewed. It was after we learned that our work visa was denied and that we would no longer be able to work in Russia that I felt the need to chronicle my journey to slow down and truly ponder the life that God is calling me to live.

Being an American abroad has its ups and downs. Serving as a missionaries to hurting people, through the counseling work we do, along with working to eradicate the sexual exploitation of children/youth is rarely glamorous but, every step of the way we are grateful. We are grateful for each experience we encounter, the life lessons we are learning and the spiritual applications we are making as we seek to serve only Him.

One of my favorite verses is 1 Thessalonians 4:11 and it truly is my desire to lead a quiet life.
